We Poor, Put up or shutup!

This is the football thread my dude!

Hey RedCat - Drop me a note at jwmason2@uh.edu and I can look at your account. Pledge fulfillment agreements were sent out after the bowl game but several accounts had bouncebacks. We also found a couple that were caught by spam filters. Would love to help you finish out the 2025 Pledge Per campaign!

Just earned an “ignore”.

If you’re not itemizing your taxes, your “donations” should go to NIL.

I just saw the clip this thread is referencing. Yikes

I would love someone to do a podcast explaining the current state of everything, I have seen some collectives have closed because of the new rev sharing, but clearly some are bigger then ever.

hadn’t thought about them in a minute. Power Tools

But for NIL. If you think about the concept it is crazy. We paid to go to college at UH. We then pay for tickets to see the game. Some pay a fee for the right to watch the game from a specific seat and then be able to pay for that seat. Then they get us into donating money back to the product we already paid for with our tuition. Now they want us to pay for athletes to come play the sport we are paying to watch.

It is wild if you think about it.

Imagine if the rockets or the Texans sent out an email asking for the public to donate money so they can get a power forward or a quarterback.

On my Cougar Pride account, I see they took the donations for the first game under “My GIving History”, but nothing after that.

C’mon now, the Texans & Rockets each collect $400+ million/year in media rights fees & season tickets & other revenues - that’s a combined $800+ million/year
while UH is still under $100 million/year. That’s such a HUMONGOUS difference!

Sampson himself says what he meant by saying that was that Houston had only just begun to get full Big 12 money and so naturally we are far behind all the schools who have got that money for many years. and yes, Cincy and UCF are way behind too, because they also have just started. In 5 more years, we will have caught up a whole bunch. But sure, lets let the whiners take a few unfortunate words from what Sampson said and turn it into whatever is most negative for our school.

I would like to see how much goes to the players before id donate. To much room for grifting

Any time you have to re-explain what you said more than once you probably should have chosen your words more carefully, but I’m glad Sampson tried to clarify.

It wasn’t the whiners that ran with it
ESPN plastered it all over their site
