Weigman, the defense, Fritz

I have to give props to both. Weigman was a dawg and after watching the replay, you could tell that Armstrong really made an emphasis to get the defense ready and focused in this game. Also, Fritz is 2-0 against UCF. When is the last time a UH coach did that?

But he’s a 70 year old coach we found on the trash heap!!!

70 yes, trash heap no… :rofl::rofl::rofl:

We found him assembled in the junk yard from pieces of old coaches!

And not just any coaches…I think I saw an old Woody Hayes forearm. And if I’m not mistaken someone said something about a Bo Schembecler foot.

He’s a 66 year old coach who took no shortcuts to get here.

He’s the classic pickup truck that had all the maintenance done and was never left out on the rain.

Sorry had to use my own analogy.

I own a 1988 Ford F-150, and I’ve been restoring it, bit by bit, for 4 years now.

I got it in 2023 because it had under 100k miles, had no rust, and had never been wrecked.

I’ve got all the mechanical stuff taken care of (essentially everything under the hood & the drive train is new), and I’m now moving to the interior cab this year.

It still only has 106k miles.

I’ve got $20k into it, so far, and she drives like a dream.

Sorry, no pictures until the interior is done and she gets a fresh coat(s) of paint.

Interestingly enough it’s a classic Ford Red and I’m considering going with “powder blue”.

Maybe “Houston Blue”?

LOL

Herman, actually…He also went 2-0 against UCF. Summie, Levine, Apple and Dana never won a game against UCF. Glad to see we have a coach now who has no problem with it.

UH coaches vs UCF, 5-8 all-time
Fritz 2-0
Holgi 0-3
Apple 0-0
Herman 2-0
Levine 0-2
Sumlin 0-2
Briles 1-1

Hard to believe that UCF built up such a big lead in the overall series that we are now catching up on. The series only started in 2005 and George O’Leary owned us for a while going 5-1 until we forced him into retirement immediately after a 59-10 pounding by Herman on their homecoming in 2015. He beat Sumlin when we were ranked #12 in 2009 for the program’s first win ever over a nationally ranked team. Holgi had the tri-fecta of going 0-3 and widening their series lead to 8-3. UCF only moved up to FBS in 1996. Hope Fritz keeps beating them for at least 4 more straight times.
