Lockhart comes to Houston out of Friendswood High School where he was the unanimous 24-6A and was named to the THSBCA 1st Team all State Team as a 1st baseman. He can also pitch and was dominant on the mound in high school. Perfect Game also rated as the best first baseman in Texas, the 27th best player in the state, the 12th best first baseman in the nation, and the 279th best player in the nation. Honestly, he should have been drafted and it was a surprise when he was not.
If you saw the USA U18 game the other night, Lockhart started at 1B and hit a homer in his 1st at-bat. Get to know him, as there will probably be many more to go with that one. We should be hearing a lot of good things about him going forward.
