A national championship. One team wins it, but you think not winning it makes you second class?
National title game appearance, two final fours, three elite eights, five sweet 16s in a row, and 16 Tournament wins in the last five seasons. That’s a helluva second class!
We defend CKS because he’s won well over 80% of our games over the last decade and resurrected our program from the abyss. When he retires there’s a very real possibility that we’ll never reach this level of sustained success again. Appreciate him while we got him.
Defending CKS for losing to teams you have no business losing to like SDSU, Miami, or Tech when their best player and head coach got ejected is what I’m talking about.
Look at Ohio State when their fanbase called out Ryan Day for his 4 consecutive losses to Michigan and it turned into a championship run.
The pressure was put on him at the beginning of the playoffs that it was either win a championship or lose your job.
Fans of blue blood programs hold their coaches accountable for losses.
Ohio St fans calling out Ryan Day had nothing to do with them winning the title. If anything it shows how dumb and entitled their fan base is because they were ready to run him off, despite how successful he’d been.
As for the losses you brought up, what are we even talking about? Two of those losses were regular season losses that cost us nothing. They were minor stumbling blocks on the road to a great season. The Miami loss was a poor performance against a very good team. It was disappointing in the moment but we’ve more than made up for in the two years since. If that’s the worst loss you can point to in Sampson’s tenure then that only further illustrates how great of a job he’s done.
As for putting a win it all or lose your job ultimatum on coach which it sounds like you want to do, that would be the fastest way to end this run we’re on. Promise you that. Thinking like that is UCLA and Indiana are no longer major players in this sport.
We don’t care bro… I’m not trading the tenure of CKS and what we’ve accomplished the past several seasons for us not losing the 5th game of a season to San Diego State. We’re going to lose random games and since we’re so elite now the likelihood is those losses are going to be to “inferior” teams. It’s not the end of the world and we shouldn’t be crying about losses in November anyways. Has it ever occurred to you that we wouldn’t have achieved what we did in March had we not lost to SD State in November? You’re crying about a loss that did not limit the team in any way as they put in one of if not THEE best Cougar Basketball season in program history. You got too much time on your hands, man.
We shouldn’t be losing to lower seeded teams? Just say you know nothing about CBB or March Madness.
In 7 tournament appearances we’ve lost to a lower seeded team twice. And one of those games we lost our AA PG to injury. In the same time span (2018-2025), Kansas has lost to a lower seeded team 5 times. And that’s under Bill Self who’s still widely considered to be the best HC in the game rn. It happens.
We’re one of the best basketball programs in the country which is exactly what we want to be. I find no fault with that and appreciate the golden era and ride we’re on.
You think I’m going to cry about losing to San Diego State like you? Nah… I’m good.
We lose to lesser opponents fewer times than any program I have ever been around. Reason is we focus and take each opponent as serious as the next. To imply we don’t show up and bring our best effort is still nonsense even if you feel the need to bring the same tired argument to multiple threads.
Not losing a road game all season and just falling in regulation all season, both being to top ranked and loaded teams down the stretch.
As for attendance we have once again sold out our season tickets allotment. Truly amazing!
Another silly response. They aren’t robots and many of the advantages that exist at the end of the season aren’t there early. We have won more games, BY FAR, than any team in the nation for 5 or more seasons. We have been 1 or 2 in Ken Pom consistently. Other teams will lose games too and in EVERY case, more than UH.
Speaking of top seed we just had a 1 seed and took a much tough route to the Final Four than the last time we went in as a lower seed. Just play the games, develop and hopefully be in good health for the tournament.
