Interestingly the DOD is involved in some coordination role, I wouldn’t have expected that. I would have thought it would be some DHS agency like FEMA. However, I really don’t know how these things have been handled in the past - it might be standard. Really though, no matter what department, as long as we have the right people in place that are empowered to act, that’s what is important.

Andrews county is 400 miles north of first case.
One new case is in Andrews County, nearly 400 miles north of Zavala County, where the first case was reported last week.
Gillespie is getting closer to Harris county 
This thing may be more widespread then initially thought.
It is too close to me, I have cattle in Gillespie County and hadn’t heard of it until now. Funny I heard it on CoogFans first.
I’ll be out checking them and spraying for flies tomorrow!

I get they don’t want people to panic, but technically there is risk.
The fact that we already have confirmed cases from Lea Co., NM all the way into South Texas tells me that there are probably a lot more festering in the counties in between.
