We have to do what is best for us. That starts with being an AAU member, win a Basketball natty, be in the cfp.
The hard truth is that the clock is ticking. The media coverage be in Football or Basketball is all about two conferences. If I would get $1 for each time the so called media pundits mention the sec or/and the big10 I would be the richest man in the world. It is more than laughable. This is valid for the National tv and radio markets and sirius xm.
The sirius xm March Madness coverage was all about these two conferences. Florida got a 10-1 coverage vs us. This is done by design. The BIG12 does not have its own channel. Do the the sec or big10 have their own? Yes they do.
Make no mistakes about it every single BIG12 member is looking at what is best for THEM. Some mention about our rivals. Yes we have a few from the SWC era and I love it. Personally a major shake up should have all conferences go back to 1976, each one of them. This is this “recipe” that made college sports popular not the bcs or cfp. A conference is about a geographical region not the entire country.
We had a chance to go to the sec prior to our invitation to the SWC. It is past history but it made one thing very clear. Do not ever trust again your conference mates. We and only U of H can write its own future.

I’m holding out for an invite to the NFL when the Texans leave for a new stadium. Salary cap will be less in the NFL than in the NIL. Win win.
