Who's Really a Blue Blood?

If you just take ‘NCAA tournament appearances’ as the standard, UH has done well. If you say “How many championships won.”, UH is not so good. I myself am haunted to this day that PSJ went to the Final Four 3 years in a row and DID NOT win. The odds of that happening are astronomical. UH didn’t win it when we had Elvin Hayes either. Plus, UH has had peaks and valleys where we have struggled and the valleys were pretty bad. The term ‘blue blood’ I don’t like. I’d rather say 'I don’t remember when these guys weren’t good e.g. Kansas, North Carolina, Duke et. al. or when the coach sees the upcoming schedule and says “Crap, we have to play those guys?”. My thinking is UH MUST win the National Championship to be looked at as a ‘blue blood’

We will be elevated to a blue blood whenever we win the natty. That’s all we are missing.

I feel any national title give you a little blue blood. Is UTEP a blue blood? No. But seven final fours and national title does give you a little more cache.

I would say Duke before Coach K was a good team. Much like UH. It wasn’t until he started racking up national titles and final fours that they became a blue blood. We need to consistently make it to the second weekend of the tournament, like he have been doing, with the occasional final four thrown in…

I’ll accept that.

I didn’t realize Kansas was not on there.
I just researched and now and they only have 4 championships.
I thought they had more to be honest.
