No.
You forgot ECU transfer. Malik Fleming he was All AAC 2nd team he will be starting in the slot most likely
Shine up the 3rd Ward D/Jackboyz Trophy and maybe we can award it after the third game ,if they have earned it. After that it is game by game.
Also fans should remember under Coach BY we had the Mad Dog Defense. I remember David Hodge, one of the hardest hitters around. He would knock you into next week, if you came into his neighborhood.
Go B12 Coogs
Cornerback looks really good, at least on paper. Safety is a concern. We have Haulcy and Brooks. Who else? I’m assuming one or more of the cornerbacks will move to safety because we need three (six for depth) and only have about two guys we could count on.
Tbh the fact that they were ok with Hypolite moving to LB, that tells me they feel really confident in Brooks. We also added the former 4 star, now JUCO transfer Juwon Gatson. Adari was a freshman all American so I’m not worried about him. He’s going to be really good
You make it sound like anyone outside these message boards or a handful of players even recognize the name. That is very fetch of you.
I have some bad news about your profile picture.
Yeah, I think Brooks will be fine, and I’m excited about Haulcy. I’m not sure about Gaston. He only had a few Sun Belt and C-USA offers, but whatever the case, that’s only three guys when we play three safeties. I think Mike Welch might be able to provide some depth; we’ll see. But I don’t know who else we have. I would think that safety is about where OL is as a portal priority.
Which name are you referring to😂
Guzman used to play at WVU he has some experience in big 12 at safety. So he will add some depth. We have a whole bunch of young guys coming in. I’d imagine we look at add a safety in the portal. Or move a CB to safety
Kris, the thread and post is about “Jackboyz” which is the defensive secondary and has nothing to do with receivers. But, you are correct that Fleming is a good receiver.
Did Art Green transfer out or he just used up all of his eligibility last year?
Because he was pretty solid in the Secondary last season imo.
Art Green was a senior last season and has no more eligibility.
Thnx. That explains it.
I said slot I should have said nickel. We were talking about jackboys and our DBs so I assumed people would understand what I was saying, But I’m really surprised how many coogsfans don’t know who Malik Fleming is that was a huge pickup for us at CB

The 5-foot-10, 184-pounder started all 13 games for ECU and played a team-high 867 defensive snaps during the 2022 season. He finished as the Pirates’ highest-graded defensive player in 2022 with a defensive grade of 80.1, according to Pro Football Focus. He earned a run defense grade of 80.5 and a coverage grade of 78.2. Fleming has held opposing quarterbacks to a less-than 60 percent completion rate the last three years at cornerback, per PFF. He’s allowed eight touchdowns against six picks with 15 pass breakups.
How abt Darrell Green. Any eligibility left.
