Announced on the WNBA home page.
Hilton furniture when under. He should have never bought the comets they are a money pit
Hopefully the Comets last a little longer this go round
Were a money pit. The team/organization hasn’t existed for years.
The Mohegan Tribe bought the team for 10 million, they just sold the team for 300 million. What a money pit!
Gotta get the name back first.
I read somewhere that the group that applied for the Houston Comets patent includes none other than Travis Scott.
I think Scott’s group owns the name now. They’re gonna get paid.
Hope Mr. Fertitta has enough money left to get us an NHL franchise.

I second that!
If not, then I hope that he’ll at least let whatever owner has the money use his arena without too many strings attached.
Would love to see an NHL franchise here, and I think it would do very well. NHL already has 32 teams though, how many more would they really add?
For what it’s worth, I can spread a rumor from a friend of a friend, who works for the Kraken. She says that over the next several years that four teams could be added. Unfortunately, if everything goes as planned, it won’t help us. From what she has heard, the order is as follows:
- Quebec City
- Toronto metro
- Portland
- Atlanta (3rd time’s the charm?)
- Houston
Not looking good for us.
Well, that would suck given that a) all those four are smaller markets, b) Toronto already has a team, and c) teams in Atlanta have already been failures.
That said, when the PLAYERS were polled, Houston was clearly the #1 choice.
Hopefully, that’ll mean something to those in power.
In an ideal world, THIS guy will pony up the cash, and Tilman will give him a generous deal to use the arena, perhaps in exchange for a partial ownership share.
Wish we could get that guy on the BOR.
They will fold within 10 yrs. No one watches women’s basketball even women.
Not that I ever watch it, but exaggerate much?
Sounds like Yogi Berra’s famous line. Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded.
It has only recently become profitable.
The idea that “no one watches” is ridiculous, because if no one was watching they wouldn’t have gotten an 11 year media rights contract last year worth $3.1 billion.
For them to fold in 10 years, there would have to be no bidders on the next contract.
Comets will fold again.
