Possible? Sure. Like many, I am deeply skeptical it will happen under current management but there are 15 million reasons why the coach next year will probably look a lot like the coach this year. It is what it is and there are no guarantees a new coach is going to be the one to put out the fire. In the short term, thereās still a win left on the table and 4-5 wins looked about right at the start of the season. In the long term, well, this too shall pass.

Yes, but the probability of that happening is somewhere between slim and none; and most folks know that slim has already left town.
Do coaches that worked and overcame the challenges of covid and produced winning seasons get credit for winning? Or do we have to dismiss their records as well. I donāt get your logic. During covid, I had to lead, I had to save my company. Save jobs. I didnāt get to use covid as an excuse.
They all counted. We havenāt vacated that season. Look it up.

Nah, part of that was Ed thinking he was above it all. Dude was clearly a prima dona albeit a talented one. Iām going to go with CDH punting the whole 2019 season. That got a lot of bad pub nationally and was extremely embarrassing. Letās not forget the expectations going into that season - take our 50TD QB and win 10+ games and get to a NY6 bowl. CDH delivered 4-8 and a transferring QB. Unbelievable really.
BTW, how can we hold 70 points against Apple as a defining reason for him being the worst but not 77 by CDH and Belk? Defies logic.

3 losing seasons in 5 years. His median season was a losing one.
He had one pretty big high (2021 season) but that is a clear anomaly of his 5 seasons here.
But worse than all of that, the trajectory is pointing down. There isnāt anything to look forward to in future, no reason for hope. His recruiting this year is an absolute joke. Heās saying things in public coaches should never say. Heās given up and itās time for us to do the same.

Very true. Dude is just hoping he can avoid the dishonor of being fired and having to find employment in earnest elsewhere (SDSU or Hawaii).

Maybe Iām missing some facts on that one, but it sounded like from what I read about it, Oliver was wearing a jacket than he shouldnāt have been wearing and refused to listen to the equipment managers. Seemed like a worse look for him than Applewhite.

Whatās embarrassing is he let it get to that level. Oliver clearly had no respect for Major.
That was a culmination when Major finally decided to do something. At least thatās how I saw it and there were rumblings on the boards about it.
The blame for jacket gate really lies with Navy and their cheap ass chop blocks. That was the reason why Ed wasnāt playing which created the whole issue because I guess the jackets were for active players.
Canāt disagree, but unless someone has $15 million lying around and is willing to pay Holgersen to go away, he will get his chances. Itās a real pickle we didnāt need to create for ourselves.
We didnāt have the 15 million to hire him in the first place, but heās here.

To me, comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges means comparing second FULL seasons.
In Danaās second FULL season, he achieved better outcomes than Applewhite did in his.

It didnāt count for the players because most didnāt get to play a full season.
The W/L for the coaches still does count.
Now that I think about it, Dana should have received a prorated salaryā¦
