Yes, this is going on today in America. How is this allowed to go on?

It could be a 65 pages decision or less this verdict is based on technicality of state vs federalism. This is where the law is failing its citizens. The merit itself is undeniable. It is an abject atrocity that should never be permitted. What is disturbing is that only 41 states have banned FGM. It begs the question of where are the women’s rights in all of this? The accused in this case won but it still poses an unanswered question. It has to do with human rights and women’s rights. Just maybe this Foxnews article is going to have the following question exposed for all to see.
Why is FGM going on today even though it is forbidden in 41 states now?

Why is drug trafficking going on even though it’s forbidden in 50 states? Why is speeding going on even though it’s forbidden in 50 states?

Unfortunately, passing a law doesn’t eliminate the issue. Prosecuting successfully doesn’t eliminate the issue either.

Especially hard for law enforcement to get the result we would all like to see without the crime being reported and without victim and witness cooperation.

I won’t even begin to act like an expert in this space or in any legal matters. There are others far more qualified.

I will say I saw women’s rights push back in my 2 minutes looking for this decision though. They talk about this issue a lot from what I can tell.
