You're a student again. What chants, traditions, gameday things, do you want to see?

Get the shovels out. Do they make diapers for horse’s?

I mean they are called Frontiersmen and wear chaps so…

Might find a way to bring it back vs ECU, never know.

This Cougar team is really starting to gell on most every possession, but dumb penalties need to be eliminated. Beating S M U proves we can beat a good winning team. Our offensive line has improved in protecting Tune. Thank Heavens for Marcus Jones. We haven’t had a Kick returner of his excellence in a long time. Go Coogs.

Not sure why some people are bothered by the Frontiersmen.

To me, it’s just good to have students involved on campus and enthused about UH sports.

Why knock people like the Frontiersmen that are both?

Seems dumb.

Let’s not eat our own.

Whatever A&M does , we need to do as far fish camp for freshmen and transfers minus standing up at games.

I could do without the yell leaders as well.

Yeah no yell leaders

We have Cub Camp actually. It’s a little short but does a few things. It is mainly for freshman.

There isn’t really an awareness thing for athletics with our transfers. But a majority of students that come in are looking for campus sports. The Coogs of CV3 allowed for any incoming transfer student with full intentions to attend UH to be a member while they were at HCC/LoneStar/San Jac. We also allowed for UH System students to be in there as well. If they choose not to attend then they are removed, but that situation never came up.

One tradition (or expectation) that I’d like to see for incoming students:
Support our athletes, and fill our arenas (or at least the student sections). Our students can be amazingly vocal and supportive, and we need to see more of them on game-day.

(I know this can take up a whole separate topic/thread, but, in a nutshell, yes, incentivize students to attend our football/basketball/volleyball/soccer/etc. games).

So this forum NEVER made fun of black mesh baton guys or Rubenesque flag girls?

I’m sure they did. Somebody finds a reason to criticize just about everything.

Even Palm Trees!!!

But given that our biggest on campus party is “Frontier Fiesta,” I really don’t see the beef with Frontiersmen.

WTF were those?
