$2.3 million SBA grant to help University of Houston’s Bauer program create 300 new small businesses in 2018
The grant has been awarded to the Bauer College’s Small Business Development Center, which serves 32 counties along the Gulf Coast and is one of four of the regional headquarters offices in Texas.
“We work with everything from taco shops to medical offices, printing shops to tech companies and cleaning firms to manufacturing companies,” said Steven Lawrence, executive director of the center and a research professor at Bauer. “A broad spectrum of people want to start their own businesses.”
