Fair assessment. Hopefully someone emerges from the bunch (Houston!) as parity could hurt the conference when it comes to the G5 slot.

That is actually what hurt the Big East’s perception. It had great parity and had the second best BCS bowl record, but never had a national title contender because everyone could beat everyone else. Without a headliner people didn’t think it was strong, but as a group it was quite good and underrated.

Up until they invited UH, then they were great!
