They have Fletch as Seattle’s #27 prospect.
With the overt tank job Mariners are undertaking, he could end up in MLB faster than expected.

Triolo leads the Black Bears in a number of statistical categories, including runs, hits, doubles and runs batted in.

He’s settled in nicely in Drew Saylor’s lineup.

The third baseman said his Black Bears season started the same way most seasons start for him.

“It was good. I was a little nervous the first start up here for sure. The crowd was pretty big, it’s usually pretty big every game. But just getting ready for the game, you get butterflies in your stomach,” Triolo said.

Hopefully he gets in a game this time around:

Edit: Nope, still no action with the big club and he was sent down on the 13th.

Houston alumni getting comfortable in minor leagues

For Jared Triolo and Fred Villarreal, two former Cougars that were drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Seattle Mariners, respectively in 2019, life after their time in Houston has been much more forgiving.

“It’s always been a vision and a goal to make it to professional baseball,” said Triolo, who in 2019 slashed .332/.420/.512 as an infielder for the Cougars. “Wouldn’t say that I knew it would be like this from the beginning, but I’m excited with how it’s worked out so far.”

Starting at first base, Davis opened the scoring for the Blue Team with a two-out, RBI single to left field in the top of the first inning. He later added another single for a 2-for-2 effort.

Triolo started at third base, as Team Blue defeated Team Red, 7-4.

On Sunday afternoon, Wong had his second consecutive three-hit game as he helped Tulsa defeat the Corpus Christi Hooks 6-2 in the Drillers’ regular-season home finale before 5,040 fans at ONEOK Field.

Wong is batting .471 with seven RBIs during a nine-game hitting streak that has raised his average to .315 in 34 games for Tulsa. He was at .218 after his first 15 games.

“He has the ability to hit .300 at any level,” Drillers manager Scott Hennessey said. “Now you are seeing a string of consistent good ABs and hard contact. The ball jumps off his bat. He’s going to be a really good player.”
