Made two appearances on the 3A All-State Honorable Mention team … A three-time WaMac All-Conference selection, earning first team honors from 2017-18 … Placed third at the 2018 GJNC in the national division … Named to the 2017 Prepvolleyball.com Honorable Mention … Set the Williamsburg High School record with 1,765 digs in a career, along with a single-match record of 58 digs … Also competed for the golf team, having earned a pair of All-District Team nods.
Earned four letters at Columbus High School … Totaled 1,153 kills, 439 blocks, 445 digs, 83 service aces and 49 assists during high school career … Accumulated 586 kills as a senior … Three-time All-District First Team honoree and two-time First-Team All-State selection … Named to the Texas Association of Volleyball Coaches All-Texas Fab 50 Preseason Team prior to her senior season … Chosen as the AVCA/Max Preps Player of the Week on Sept. 11, 2017 … Named Academic All-District … 2017 TAVC All-Star selection … Competed for the swimming, track and field, basketball and softball teams as well.
One thing I’ve noticed is that we’ve gone from 17 players on the roster last season to 22 this season. We also only lost 2 players that didn’t graduate from last year’s roster (Gabi Zalaya and Jordan Lockwood) so Rehr did a good job of keeping this team together.
I think this will be an interesting year. I think our youth will probably hold us back from being able to move into the upper ranks of the conference, but there is some talent on this squad and we should be respectable in Rehr’s 1st season.
Will also be interesting to see how the conference tourney works since they’ve added one this year. Will every team be included?
Back in June UH installed three practice courts for volleyball inside the Athletic Alumni Center next to the elevated track.
