There’s plenty of blame to be spread – coaching, players, schemes. But the rapidly shifting sands of the Houston program are also a culprit, perhaps the biggest one of all. Great programs have much more continuity. Of course, UH is in a tough position regarding conference affiliation. In a way, UH is being punished for its success two years ago. Still, I’ll take the grandeur of the Peach Bowl win. But it’s unrealistic to expect that kind of success every year with the coaching staff having constant turnover.

At least 1 of those coaches needed to go. We wouldn’t have had that Peach Bowl otherwise. Instead we’d continue having unacceptable losses to bad teams…
