The Cougars are renewing an old Southwest Conference rivalry this weekend as they square off with Texas Tech. We talked to Zach Mason from Viva the Matadors to get the inside scoop on all things Red Raiders, and broke down what looks to be a high-scoring affair.

I keep emphasizing the Ole Miss game just because it’s hard to watch film and learn anything from a 77-0 win. Defensive tackle Broderick Washington told us Tuesday that he wishes they played three hard teams to see where they need to improve and learn about the team, mistakes, etc. However, I think having that shutout does give you momentum and confidence, regardless. We won’t know how the season will go until after Houston, a game where the Cougars’ speed and offense can hurt you and expose what Ole Miss did. We’ll see if they learned from week one for sure.
