Teams use former athletes all the time…see UCLA basketball, UT football, etc…

I think it is only a violation if the alumnus athlete visits the athlete off campus - that falls under booster recruiting. Personal contact at the university’s recruiting funtion are OK, if I understand it correctly.

Coaches also can’t encourage alums to contact recruits. UCONN got in trouble when Kebin Ollie had Ray Allen calling recruits. If they meet of their own volition, that’s fine.

What about Rockets and other NBA players coming to the Lewis Center to work out and play pickup? Are they not allowed to interact with current players and recruits or are they? CKS has talked openly about CP3, Harden, and a bunch of others coming out regularly.

I’m sure that’s part of getting them to show up to some home games (unofficially.)

They can come, CKS and staff just cant encourage them to interact with the players.

Nah… he would have left in '61 after making the tournament due to a 20 year old facility that only held 2500
