Not that it is AAC but that Austin team nearly dropped a game to Tennessee State even though the Tigers had 25 TOs and shot under 40% for the game. In basketball, you take a win any way you can get it.
Wake Forest extends their win streak to six games with a road victory at Coastal Carolina. Letās hope that continues as they face Tennessee, @ N Carolina and Syracuse in their next three games.

Something is very, very wrong in Austin.
Based on respective talent levels, Texas should have won that game last night by 40.
The final score was 47-46, and Texas won because Tennessee State went brain-dead in the last 20 seconds of the game.
I also thought it was interesting that there might have been 3000 people at the game.
Shaka has been underwhelming thus far coaching but has recruited very well. Mo Bamba will go in the top 5 of the upcoming draft. He probably only needs to go top 7 in the Big 12 to make the dance this year. They took Duke to OT and probably should have won that game. Not sure why they havenāt yet jelled. PG play is spotty. THe Big 12 is LOADED this year and Texas played a reasonably difficult OOC schedule so I would be stunned if they donāt finish at least .500 in the conference and make the dance.
Shaka seems to be struggling with the big men heās able to recruit at Texas. He won at VCU with the Havoc Pressure Defense that relied on smaller, quicker players. Heās having to run a more normal offense/defense at Austin and the results havenāt been great.
One of the reasons Jarrett Allen was leaning towards Houston was because he didnāt know how heād fit in Shakaās system.

Tulsa lost to Okie State last night. AAC record against the other major conferences took a beating this past week with only Cincy winning over UCLA.
Memphis losing to 3-8 Siena at home tonight: 41-38 with about 14 to go.
Memphis now up by 4 with about 8 to go

Edit: whew. Too close for comfort. They were down by seven with about ten minutes left. Won by ten.

Memphis loses by 10 at home to LSU.
Wichita State plays two road games prior to coming to Houston on Jan 20th: ECU and Tulsa. Good chance that weāll have a chance to end the streak.
