a vaccine maybe could save the 2021 tourney, but dont even count on that. these things take a lot of time to develop (12-18 months in the best circumstances)

Why would they stop at Buc-ee’s? That place has more people than they would have been in contact with had they went to the tourney.

Remember back in 2009/2010 when everything was being cancelled due to the Swine Flu with 60 million people infected, 300 K hospitalized and 18K died !!

Sure. We had stockpiles of H1N1 vaccines available to help contain the virus with the ability to rapidly produce more and cut off vectors from spreading. We don’t have a vaccine for COVID-19 (a year+ out) and no herd immunity. The populace is unprotected and vulnerable. Apples and oranges.

I don’t see them canceling the NCAA tournament too much money has already been forked over. I could see then playing the games with no fans. Only teams, media, and select family and friends.

The high estimate for the swine flu mortality rate is 0.08%. The current rate for corona is 3.4%. A little bit different.

Well its said that corona virus has a 80% cure rate. It looks like unless you are elderly than have a good chance of beating it in the US. Also Swine flu affected the US population at quicker rate than the Corona Virus and so far we haven’t reached the fatality level of Swine Flu with Corona Virus. Hopefully it can be contained

36/1215*100 = 2.9% fatality rate according to current numbers on COVID-19 from the CDC. 2009 H1N1 was .02%.fatality in USA.
