SERIES vs. TEXAS STATE
Wednesday’s meeting is the 14th all-time against Texas State.

The Cougars hold an 11-2 advantage in the series with Texas State and have never lost to the Bobcats inside Hofheinz Pavilion, holding a 6-0 mark on their home court.

The last time the two teams met was Dec. 15, 2013, when the Bobcats edged the Cougars 70-63 in San Marcos.

SERIES vs. MERCER
Friday’s meeting against the Bears will be the first in the two team’s history. The meeting will also serve as Hughey’s first contest against a SoCon team.

Coogs continue to play tight at the beginning of the game.

“We have to shoot the ball better,” Head Coach Ronald Hughey said. “We have to shoot the ball better, and we have to play for 40 minutes. I thought we only played for 30 minutes tonight. The effort was there late in the ballgame.”

Coogs missed 12 of 15 free throws and turned the ball over 26 times in a game that was tied late 58-58.

““It’s tough,” Head Coach Ronald Hughey said. “It’s tough when you know your team is prepared. The fundamental things they’ve been doing since they started basketball: taking care of the basketball, not turning it over and shooting free throws, those things hurt us tonight.”

Damn. It seems like all the losses have been 4 points or less this year. UH womens basketball is close to being good.

They are. This team is so young though. Need to find consistency and chemistry.
