The student organization earned the honor at the national Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) convention, which hosted groups from dozens of universities from around the country last August in Las Vegas.
Bauer College student Alejandra Requena, who served as HBSA president this spring, helped lead the effort to take 40 members from the organization to the event, where the group was recognized as the top chapter in their region and one of the top four in the nation.
“I think what sets us apart is that we really care about our members and our members care about each other,” Requena said.
