Senior sprinter/long jumper Cameron Burrell has been named as one of 10 track & field student-athletes to The Bowerman Preseason Watchlist. The prestigious award is given annually to the top male and female athletes in the sport of NCAA Track & Field.

Burrell will only compete in Houston’s outdoor season during the 2017-18 campaign after exhausting his indoor eligibility last year. Burrell returns as the NCAA Runner-up in the 100-meter dash, finishing second at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships, in Eugene, Ore. Burrell was also the anchor leg of Houston’s 4x100-meter relay squad which won the NCAA Championship in June en route to setting the program record in the event.

In his career on the indoor slate, Burrell finished as the NCAA Runner-Up in the 60-meter dash in back-to-back seasons, claiming silver medals in each of the 2015-16 and 2016-17 campaigns. Burrell is an 8-time NCAA All-American on the indoor and outdoor slates combined and is the school record holder in the indoor 60-meter dash, as well as the outdoor 100-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay.
