Ch 2 investigation into UH athletic department over UH soccer Thabo cases (update: current players respond to JD)

They just ran another attack. This one claimed that the UH “higher administration” was trying a coverup, it never mentioned the contradictory testimony from other players. Then it went all the way to
Connecticut to interview a retired Longhorn official or trainer who said that the UH internal investigation was the classic way to conduct a coverup. Some UT elements see UH as a threat and will do
anything to discredit us.

Does Dominique Sachse still work for Channel 2? If so, I hope she is stepping up for her alma mater, at least off camera. Better if she would say something on air, but that won’t happen. She could resign and then speak out. That might get people’s attention.

Current and former players, along with parents, were interviewed by investigators within the past week, according to multiple people with knowledge, about the February 2018 workout and a January workout that led to several members of the team being diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, also known as rhabdo, a severe syndrome caused by muscle damage.

Not going to link the CH 2 news story, but here’s JD reporting on it as 2 more anonymous girls talked to KPRC

https://twitter.com/Joseph_Duarte/status/1143718399597600768

My issues with KPRC and the girls coming forward…are these girls on the soccer team currently? If they are, have they expressed what they are telling KPRC to either UH admin or police when interviewed by them? If not, why not?

At this point, it’s hard to know where these anonymous girls are coming from and who they are when they aren’t coming forward. I don’t understand why they are staying anonymous…if they are on the current team, why would they stay if they are this scared of coming forward without staying in the dark? I mean, this isn’t a rape case or an assault case…why are they so scared to come forward?

Fan backlash maybe?

Guy was terminated in January 2019, so why continue to attack the school? He is not employed at UH any longer. Gee, Channel 2!

No offense to UH Soccer, but it’s UH Soccer…there aren’t exactly a ton of diehard fans at this point.

This continues to be the key part:

As part of the report, KPRC said “players are fearful of retribution” and “others are scared to speak out.”

If this is the case, why are they still in the program or at the school?
