Deininger Tabbed as American Diver of the Week

Deininger closed out the weekend with a trio of top-three finishes in the 1-Meter, 3-Meter, and Platform events at the three-day meet. In the 1-Meter, Deininger finished first-overall with 293.75 points. Her best dive came in the opening round when Deininger posted 50.70 points off a Forward 2 ½ Somersault Pike. The freshman finished third-overall in the 3-Meter, 23.50 points ahead of fourth-place, with 297.65 points. Her best dives came on her second and third attempts when she posted 56 points after performing a Back 2 ½ Somersault Tuck and a Reverse 1 ½ Somersault Tuck. In the final diving event of the weekend, Deininger took first-place in the Platform with 246.85 points. Deininger tallied up 55.00 points in the third round after completing a Back 1 ½ Somersault 1 ½ Twist Free from the 5-Meter platform.

Each of Deininger’s dives meet the NCAA Zone Diving qualification standards. Her finish in the Platform is the highest mark in The American this season. The award marks the second weekly award for Deininger this season, as well as for her career.
