With that cheap shot by the LSU player, could he actually be charged with assault? i would hope so, that is not football.
Is it possible the LSU player didn’t know he was already down? It was a lineman that made the hit, so it’s possible he was on the ground facing the other direction, hopped up, and sees the other team with the ball and BAM.
Just a devil’s advocate take. I haven’t had the opportunity to go back and study the play closely.
Doubtful, too many variables at play and as @Kronke mentioned, he can claim he didn’t hear a whistle.
Now, suspension, loss of scholarship, and, if there are permanent injuries, civil suit should be in play.
