Four Individuals from Men's Golf to Lead Houston at Bentwater Intercollegiate

In a recent addition to the University of Houston Men’s Golf schedule, four Cougars will compete as individuals at the Bentwater Collegiate, beginning Monday morning at Bentwater Country Club.

The Cougars will compete on the 6,799-yard, par-72 Miller Course. The two-day, 54-hole event begins with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start Monday and continues with the final 18 holes, starting with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start Tuesday.

The Cougars will be represented by seniors George Gardner and Zach Tracy, sophomore Braxton Watkins and junior Laurence Crea.

We’re not participating as a team, but our four individuals scored 600 after two rounds, which would place us in 8th place. Not good.

These aren’t our top guys and this is basically to get these guys in a tourney since they hadn’t had much time on the course so far. Watkins and Gardner had been in one tourney so far and Crea and Tracy hadn’t played yet. Possible that Gardner may be in the mix come the spring season, but I doubt the others will play more than a tourney here or there.

Shot a 309 combined in first round and 291 second round which is excellent. Let’s see how it goes today.
