Bad AD hired Bill Callahan, who brought in a West Coast offense. They pushed Solich (an Osborne disciple) and the triple option out the door.
Solich landed at Ohio in the MAC and took a perennial doormat of a program and made them respectable.

There are guys that are winners rebuilding things and there are guys that are placeholders. Sometimes you have to take a lot of things into consideration.
