Healthy and fresh UH team looks for another confidence boost against Tulane

All except Carter (stinger) and Rodgers (ankle) — who head coach Tom Herman said is about 75 percent — are expected to start Saturday against Tulane (3-6, 0-5 in the American Athletic Conference).
Wide receiver Isaiah Johnson, still in the concussion protocol after sustaining the injury against SMU, was the team’s only significant contributor who was limited in practice entering the week.
“Our guys are as healthy and as fresh as we’ve been in a long, long time, which is very much needed,” Herman said. “We were running on fumes there the last few ballgames.”
The extra week allowed even those players who have been in the lineup on a weekly basis to heal any nagging injuries.
Left tackle Josh Jones has been the only offensive lineman to start each of Houston’s first nine games, but he has done so playing through a groin injury, some back pain and a bruised ligament in his hand.
