HISD Fall sports on hold (maybe?)

It was just posted that HISD will be online only for the first six weeks. No extracurricular activities during that time it appears, so football, volleyball and others are on hold. It is kind of like conferences dropping nonconference games at this point. Schools who have scheduled HISD will see those games disappear. We might we see a mass migration to other district or private schools from some of the top district players

Edit: just read an update that they HISD is talking with UIL for waivers to play or other considerations.

“No extracurricular activities” would include practices. It would be rediculous to expect teams to go out and play games without at least a couple of weeks of practice, IMHO. So, that would put football starting no sooner than 8 weeks after school starting.

Going to really suck for late blooming athletes that hope to earn a scholarship.
