Preston Pehrson | Director of Player Personnel
Comes to Houston from Navy where he most recently served as Director of Player Personnel.
With Navy, he was responsible for developing, implementing and managing the strategic planning process for recruiting prospective student-athletes.
He oversaw the geographical canvassing assignments of all assistant coaches, the planning and execution of official and unofficial visits, development of the marketing message and the management of the recruiting database.
Prior to Navy, spent four seasons at Georgia Tech, three as a graduate assistant coach and one as an offensive quality control coach.
In Pehrson’s four years at Georgia Tech, the Yellow Jackets wre 33-21, played in four bowl games and won two bowl games.
Before Georgia Tech, Pehrson worked one spring as a graduate assistant coach at Lamar University in 2011.
In the fall of 2010, he served as outside linebackers coach and assistant tight ends coach at Houston Christian High School.
He started his coaching career with two different coaching internships at Navy, the first in 2006 and the second in 2009.
Pehrson attended Jacksonville University for two years and played two seasons with the Dolphins baseball team. He then transferred to the University of Texas for one year before finishing his college career at Towson University.
In 2007, Pehrson was taken in the 47th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Baltimore Orioles and played two years in the minor leagues.

A Houston alum, rejoins the Houston Football program after a brief stint with the Texas A&M Football program.
Had previously spent 20 years with the UH Football program, serving in a variety of roles including Director of Football Recruiting, Director of High School Relations, Assistant Director of Football Operations and Defensive Graduate Assistant.
He has also served as interim Director of Football Operations and as a quality control coach.
Prior to joining the Houston staff, Alcoser played wide receiver, running back and on special teams for the Cougars from 1994-96.
