I’ll be honest, I’m not exactly sure what we’re trying to do on offense right now.

Why do you have Hollis, who’s probably one of your three best hitters, bunt in the 11th just to move Lockhart to 3rd?

Coldiron isn’t going to work out well as a leadoff hitter. He’s got some pop, but he’s not a guy that can get on base consistently. Probably should put Hollis in the leadoff spot, Lockhart in the 2 hole as he’s good at getting on base, Padgett at the 3 spot, and Davis at Cleanup.

Couldn’t agree more. I don’t understand Lael Lockhart in the clean-up spot. He had just 11 extra base hits last year and slugged .356. He’s been better this year but I agree with you that he’s best in the 2 or 3 spot.

Early season is a time for experimentation. We’ve experimented but it’s time to admit some things just aren’t working. Coldiron has hit .222 since he got here last May. He’s had 19 ABs this year which isn’t enough to bench a guy but is enough to pull him out of lead-off spot.

I’m not ready to give up on this season as we’ve played just 7% of it. That’s like giving up on a football season after 3 quarters of the first game.

Wow. Very disappointing. We get 8 hits, they get 2, we have 13 baserunners and score only 1 run, they score their only 2 runs on wild pitches, we strike out 19 of their guys. Whew !
