Houston Cougars Turn to Former Longhorn Duke Catalon to Rebuild Ground Game

.

“As for his talent level against the competition…” I guess the P5s ignored the seasons that the AAC teams had last year.

And interesting that the Longhorn contributer was convinced that Catalon was going to be buried on the depth chart at UT but had to rely high school film for what kind of runner he is. Does that mean Catalon got no reps at practice during his RS year or did the contributer go to the practices?

Looking forward to seeing the new look Cougars on offense and defense. I hope they can keep it rolling in 2016.

According to Duarte, Catalon was a Mack Brown recruit and couldn’t set up visits after Brown retired so he decided to stick it out with Texas. Before his freshman season, he had hamstring problems that hung around and kept him from playing. Not sure about “being in the doghouse,” but he walked out of UT camp last August as he and Strong didn’t see eye-to-eye from the beginning. Also not sure about being buried on the depth chart as that was a rumor that Burnt Orange Nation started, but whatever.

The “level of competition” crack is mandatory for all fans and media members that follow P5 schools when speaking about G5 schools. It’s to ensure we are kept in our place.
