I am a little concerned with two poor shooting performances from key players over the last two games at H&PE arena. They were lighting it up from 3 for most of the games and this is not a good time to get into a funk especially at home.
Let’s hope the National spotlight and the meaning of the game on Wednesday helps to turn the offense around against Cincy. They will need to continue to rebound and limit 2nd chances for Cincy.
10-0 (4-0 in AAC play) at H&PE is still impressive despite the offensive performance today. I was afraid they would not have much a “home court” this season. I hope they can keep it going but there will be some interesting challenges upcoming to stay undefeated at “home”
Every game is on it’s own. Just win. Remember they lost at Home last yr to USF, surely hurt in Selection comm. eyes. Defense & depth much better this year.
Stay the course!
If I remember correctly…didn’t Rob come up limping after colliding with one of the USF guys early in the game? He limped momentarily and then played through it. Maybe there was something to that.
I grew to like Penders. The only thing I didn’t like about the way he handled business [ignoring the on the court part for this discussion] was the whole homeless person sleeping in The Hof part when the heat was on near the end of his tenure.
Rhodes made it very clear that his #1, #2, and #3 priority was resurrecting the football program. Almost every penny that the athletic department had went to football. If I recall correctly at one point the basketball team had a recruiting budget of around $150.00.
I didn’t say he was without a motivation for doing it but, in my book, that move did not say “class act.” There were ways to get the point across without dragging the UH name through the mud.
But let’s not act like the football board…back to the original topic of how great the current coach and his team are.
