I sure hope that I am wrong - but through two games, albeit against the mighty Penguins of Youngstown State, fresh off spring training on the balmy shores of Antarctica, this season has all the signs of last years debacle. Tonight - the Coogs allowed overtime solely because the cf and rf could not handle a “routine” (although with the Whitting defense it is hard to call any play routine) fly ball. Then in extras, the high command went back to an ineffective Carter Henry who gave up a walk, a steal on a ball in the dirt - a wild pitch - a walk - and then a home run. Meanwhile the Coogs had three (3) hits - each a solo home run. Through two games, UH has committed four (4) errors. Last year the Coogs did not make the tournament because they gave away somewhere in the range of a dozen games. This year is off to a similar start.

Very Tough Loss!!! Penquins given a Gift Win! Game ends on a couple of weak strikeouts. A late positive, Blaylock looked good, hit 92, got fly out and then two k’s to end the inning.

Sounds like it is going to take time or we may be looking at another bad year
