Houston Cougar Women’s Basketball Head Coach Ronald Hughey has been invited to speak at the 2018 Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Clinic on Saturday, May 19.
Many of the top head basketball coaches from around the region will gather at St. Mary’s University for the three-day clinic to discuss various skills and strategies in the sport, including Hughey and the Houston Basketball Men’s Head Coach Kelvin Sampson. The three-day event kicks off with a golf outing on Thursday morning, and runs through the Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on Saturday evening.
Hughey will speak at on the third afternoon of the three-day event about the running the dribble drive offense and why it is successful. Hughey most recently lead the Cougars to an eight-game improvement between the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons and took the Cougars to their first postseason appearance since 2011 with a berth in the WNIT.
