Watching those highlights, he’s a tiny guy but he’s hard to bring down. He ran through a ton of arm tackles and guys were bouncing off him. He’s also got speed as he hits that hole and is just gone.
Remember Barry Sanders was 5’8, Emmitt Smith 5’9, Joel Delaney and Eric Bienemy 5’7, and Darren Sproles 5’6. Carr had some nice offers coming out of high school–Arkansas, Arizona State, TCU, and others. He rushed for 100 yards against UCLA as a true frosh. We could definitely use another good back. I’m not sure depth at RB really goes much further than Catalon and Car.
Sproles was who I was thinking of while watching the video. Very similar styles. ESPN lists him at 5’9" but he looks shorter than that.
Agreed on the depth at RB and Herman has been mentioning that during training camp. We do have the kid from Crosby coming in as well (Carlos Grace) which should help. Wouldn’t mind having a 3-headed attack like we did with Sims, Hayes, and Beall so hopefully some of them step up.
