It was the first time the Knights have trailed in a game this season and the first time has faced a deficit since midway through the third quarter against Auburn in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Day — a little more than 10 quarters of play.
“I like the way we handled that,” Heupel said Monday. “There was no panic on the sideline. Really mature and calm.”
Oh, they’ll get full consideration, but we already know the final answer. I “fully consider” my kids’ requests all the time when I know my answer is going to be no from the moment they start talking.
Heupel said Milton didn’t take any warm reps in practice Wednesday and the team would continue to monitor his progress the rest of this week and into next.
“I don’t know, we’ll talk to the medical staff here later,” Heupel said when asked if he thought Milton would practice later in the week.
UCF is currently on a bye week and Wednesday was the first time the team returned to the practice field.
“I don’t have an official status right now,” he added when pressed on his quarterback’s availability for next Thursday’s game against the Owls at Spectrum Stadium.
