Houston Baseball out hit UConn, 13-11, in the game. The Cougars used four extra-base hits as Corey Julks led the offense with a 4-for-4 effort, a run and two RBI. Connor Wong belted his 10th home run, Jake Scheiner tripled and Jared Triolo came up huge with a double in the 10th inning.

Houston starter Mitch Ullom tossed another gem, allowing just two runs on six hits and two walks with one strikeout in 6.2 innings of work, but was credited with the no-decision.

He handed the ball over to junior reliever Joey Pulido in the seventh with runners at first and third with two outs and Pulido did his job, inducing an inning-ending flyout. He returned in the eighth, but would leave after stranding a pair on walks with two outs.

Sophomore Aaron Fletcher took over in the eighth and struck out the lone hitter he faced to end the frame. He returned in the ninth, but UConn rallied to load the bases with one out. Junior Seth Romero took over and fanned the next hitter, but the Huskies used back-to-back base hits to plate three runs and tie the game and force extras.

Romero returned for the Cougars in the 10th and shut UConn out, striking out the side to send the Cougars to the bottom half of the inning with a chance to win. Romero finished the game, allowing just two hits with one walk and five strikeouts in 1.2 innings of work to move to 4-4 on the year.
