Agreed. I think what this stat says is that our rush offense was extremely bad last year and there was nowhere to go but up. If we improve by 1.5 ypa next year, we should be at the top of the conference.

Second level blocking has been non existent. If we want to run the power-spread, we need to be able to execute our zone blocking. If we continue to man-block, opposing linebackers will plug the gaps. We need to get hats on them next season, or we’ll see more of the same. That’s on the O-Line coach to teach our guys to combo block. Again, man-blocking will not work in the power-spread.
