Sigh, the annual UCONN needs to go back to the Big East talk has begun again

That’s the $$$ question for UCONN as their football program isn’t desirable at all. More than likely, any move to the Big East means that they move their football program down to FCS. However, wouldn’t happen until after the next wave of TV contracts and conference shake-ups.

Let them go. And I’m not going to worry about where. That’s their problem. Replace them with New Mexico. Quality basketball and a football program that cannot grow in its current situation. Move Navy to the East Division.

Playing in Texas and getting more press will help grow both basketball and football for New Mexico.

…,or tempt BYU again.

Please move navy and their constant cut blocking to the east division.

UConn should never have added football. Just waters down the league. They’re a basketball school so if they wanna leave; let them join the new Big East, meh. I’d try and get BYU again before New Mexico, Colorado St, or Boise.

5th loss by 20 this season.
UConn got booed on their homecourt today.

Ollie has done a terrible job of developing that team. He gets 4-5 star recruits easily, but almost none of them have any skill offensively and they don’t play good team defense. All (and I do mean all) of the scoring comes from their 3 guards even though they regularly have size advantages in the paint. They would have fired him already, but he had that miracle run to the title and they feel they owe him. Paying way too much money to him for the results they get.

I imagine the calls will get higher-pitched that the Big East schools have passed them by because they left and can’t recruit at that level anymore. Problem is that the AAC has more RPI-Top 100 teams than the Big East does and might be higher ranked as a conference if ECU and USF didn’t drag everyone down. The conference has gotten much better because of the coaches that are in place now; UCONN needs to step up and get a better one to compete.

They extended Ollie in the spring till 2021. Will they suck up the buyout?

Who would of thought when AAC formed that Memphis & UConn would be afterthoughts @5 years in.

“[Jim] Calhoun could go into someone’s living room and say, 'Hey, we can put you on the big stage at MSG two or three times during the year and in the conference tournament,” Orlovsky told Metro. “[Kevin] Ollie is like, ‘Want to go play at Tulsa?’”

UConn believes there football should be in a p5 since they were in the Big East when it was a power conference.

You think it’s better to be the 6th strongest out of 10 conferences than being the 7th strongest out of 32 conferences?

Being a top 40 basketball program leads to annual invites to the NCAA tourney. shares of NCAA tourney money and a shot at a national championship. Being a top 40 football program leads to tier two bowl games that no one watches but fans of the schools involved.

With the addition of Wichita State, we became a better basketball conference than football conference.

“The AD is kind of a schmuck,” Orlovsky told Metro.
Hilarious!

Not much different than us believing we should have been part of the SWC move to the Big8.

“We’re going to fight to protect our university brand,” he said. “We’re going to fight to protect our men’s basketball program because we believe we’ve been doing all of those things and we’re very committed to compliance.”

Doubtful but UConn could do UH a solid with a win @WSU & leave UH alone in 2nd.

We don’t want uconn to beat Wichita. It’ll diminish our win against Whichita. The 2 and 3 seed in the AAC tournament isn’t a big difference. If Wichita goes undefeated the rest of the way and we beat them in the tournament, that’s my ask.

Doesn’t look like it will be an issue.
UConn down 22 at the 1/2.

And no more effective.
