SMU Post Game Press Conference

Dan: I think you re right. Mills not only scores. He opens up the court with that double coverage on the
outside; and that gives Hinton starting room for his attacks on the rim. We need one more outside shooter to make the deal complete. So far Sasser is still a Freshman, but he may become the answer.

I thought that too right when he said it Dave. Unlike someone else however CKS has earned that street cred through winning and being here a few years. During the start of CKS tenure he was a lot more formal and polite.

Thanks for looking it up for this lazy old manā€¦and he is going to get better as his career progressesā€¦man, our future is brightā€¦

If Mills would just pass occasionally the corner 3 is almost always wide open when he drives.

The SMU game showed CKS coaching greatness. The shift in starting line up, they way he gets 110% out of every player (or they know they will sit) is amazing. Wichita will be a true test as to where we are and winning on the road is always tough, but this team can make a run in the tourny.

He also sometimes misses opportunities to feed White/Gresham/Harris when their man shades up to show help.

But Iā€™m fairly confident improvements in his passing will come, along with him continuing to improve his defense and range.

We are not going to post up Gresham or Harris very often no matter what their positioning is down low.
White is our post scorer and he has come a long way in that area since he arrived 2 seasons ago.

Iā€™m not talking about feeding them for a post-up. Iā€™m talking about when their man steps up to help or to show help there are sometimes opportunities to kick it into them where they can possibly go up for a quick finish or even alley oop (or possibly make a pump fake and take one dribble if itā€™s White/Gresham to get by a rotation thatā€™s coming at them fast to help) or the defense may over collapse and then they can kick it to someone else who is open. Deeky feeds it to those guys like that at times but he has to get a little deeper for the help to come since thereā€™s less respect for his shooting.

Think of it like basically every basket Capela scores thatā€™s not off a rebound.
