Thank you Capt. Pedantic. My in-laws of 44 years are English and English-Canadian. I’ve heard “whinge” used by these Brits far more than your pedantry would ever appreciate.

My comment was meant to be a clever bit of fun with contrived etymology reflecting the nature of the opining on this board; to wit cringy and whiney.

As Herbert Hoover once said: Pendatry is to wit what Bonnie and Clyde were to the law.

Well I’m from Pasadena so I don’t understand half of the words you said. I just found the origin (slightly) interesting. And I did like your portmanteau (I do know the meaning of that one.)
