They will bleed into whatewhatever section has empty seats with a better view. No one ever checks stubs which really annoys me.
I think they set aside a number of tickets to give away to first responders or others (students). Most of the tickets gone are in the Upper Deck in the corners which is where most of the give-aways usually are put. Extra student give-away was probably in the East 200 section above the normal student section.
I went back and looked at the Tech tickets to see if folks are jumping on the $75 and a ticket goes to 1st responders deal; Iâd have to say that there wasnât much movement there either as there are still a lot of tickets available for that game. The early start time probably wonât help ticket sales for that game either.
I have a feeling that âgive-alwaysâ will be a theme this year.
Thatâs a bummer about TT tickets, sad it may not sell out. Dang, that 11 am start.
This is a baseline year for ticketing from what Iâve heard. Reason why they ditched GA, reduced student tickets, etc. basically, they want to see what the fanbase will pay for right now and will adjust accordingly.
Thanks for the dot counting!!!
Whatâs the current ticket count?
Silly question, does anyone have an extra parking pass, any lot?
HmmmâŠwe may get over 38K for this one.

Sounds like some massive giveaways to first responders and fellow Houstonians.
I have no problem with giveaways in the wake of Harvey. Some people still have bigger fish to fry and we may add some fans.
Are you sure that they are no longer reserving Rice tickets for the Hurricane Harvey deal?
A lot of people with free tickets wonât show up. Just ask Mike Pede. Great gesture.
Not really going to fault any first responders that never watch college football for not wanting to spend a rare Saturday night off going to a game just because they are offered âfreeâ tickets. For UH Athletics, they will still count any unused Rice game tickets from Texas Tech purchases as part of the attendance total.
I think theyâre still giving away tickets to first responders and theyâve also pulled some more for students.
I will say this, the Tech tickets have started to sell and things are looking promising once we get into next week.
Based off the ADâs tweet, students are being given tickets in large amounts; 2nd largest student attendance means somewhere between 7,500 and 10,000. Also noticed that HISD teachers were able to buy tickets this week for a discount as UH teamed up with an organization to offer them.
Needless to say, weâll probably announce somewhere north of 36K

Will be interesting with the new student ticket process to see how many show up.
Theyâve given 6000 away.
