A come-from-behind 3-pt win on South Alabama will get you paid…

Like Sumlin’s win at UNT when they opened their stadium.
Like UTSA’s win over UH when we opened our stadium. Well that was different.

There’s Covid now but announcers were saying the 25% capacity crowd was very loud in Mobile.

I’m glad he’s locked up for a few more years. It’s not too easy to win at Tulane, even though it has great academics and loose admissions for athletes.

…at Tulane. It will get you fired at other schools.

I think extending him was a good idea but it seemed like an interesting time to announce it.

Smart move. He’s a good coach and is doing as well as can be expected at Tulane, often more so. They can expect to be in a bowl most years under him; that will keep their alumni happy.

Man, it has been a long journey from that 1998 Tulane football team that went 12 - 0 with Shaun King at QB.

There’s still a good number of people in the Sam Houston State community who have high praise for Willie Fritz. He has a loyal following in Huntsville and left a good impression.
Bearkat faithful were sad to see him go, but he was ready to move to a bigger classification. First Georgia Southern prior to Tulane.

Some stats to back up why Tulane is enamored with Fritz…

“[Fritz] has guided Tulane to back-to-back bowl wins in 2018 and 2019, the first time in school history the program has achieved such a feat.

If the team can muster up a winning record this year, Fritz will become the first Green Wave head coach to post three consecutive winning seasons since Henry Frnka did so from 1948 to 1950.
