Why was UH the only Houston college team to cancel a week 1 away game? Since the team was in Austin, it obviously wasn’t a safety issue. Many other Texas schools have lots of Houston area players, but they’re still playing.
It seems like the best thing for the kids would have been to just play to have as much of a normal weekend as possible Unless they thought they were going to lose. Plus it would’ve given another opportunity to raise awareness.
How would you know whats best for the students?
Just asking, since no other team in Houston canceled an away game and they all thought playing was the best thing to do.

The team is coming back to Houston, like all UH sports teams, to help the people in Houston who lost everything. Games can take a back seat for a week.
No offense to UTSA but the team wasn’t worried about losing… they want to help people suffering in Htown.
