W.BBall Hosts UCF For Senior Night Showdown (L 59-50)

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
UCF enters Monday’s contest with an 23-5 overall record, a 12-3 mark in American Athletic Conference play and receiving votes in the in both the AP and USA Today polls. UCF has won its last three games most recently defeating Tulane in a 52-42 decision. The Knights are 11-3 when playing on the road this season.

UCF has one player averaging double figures in scoring this season, Kornelia Wright paces the Knights with 18.3 points per game to lead the team, Kayla Thigpen is second on the team with 9.6 points per game. • UCF is allowing opponents to score 55.4 points per game, allowing 36.5 percent shooting from the field and 30.6 percent from long-range.

HOUSTON: The Cougars saw three players reach double figures in scoring, Barnes led the team with 15 points, while Branch and Blackshell-Fair each added 10. Branch posted led the team in rebounds with nine and Harris led the team in assists with four. Barnes has now hit at least one three-pointer in the last 20 games.

UCF: UCF finished the game with one players in double figures. Korneila Wright led the team with 21 points. Nyala Shuler and Masseny Kaba led the Knights on the boards with six rebounds each and Lawriell Wilson finished with three assists.

* Houston drops to 15-14 on the season and 9-7 in conference play. The Cougars have matched their regular-season record from last season at 9-7.
* The Cougars shot 36.5 percent from the field, compared to 42.6 percent from UCF. Houston outrebounded UCF 37-33, but struggled from the three-point line, hitting 5-of-33 attempts form behind-the-arc.
