11-9 Coogs lead after 1.

Coogs lead 34-33. Had opened a 7 point lead, but an 8-0 USF run at the end of the period erased that.

Coogs fall 72-55 and bow out of the tournament. Probably their last game of the season as well as they struggled at the end of the season and probably have no shot at the WNIT.

Disappointing season, yet, with all the turmoil, it was also somewhat of a miracle that they did as well as they did. Most teams don’t lose two of their top 4 players for long stretches and still go on to finish with a winning record in conference.

One thing I’ve noticed, Hughey’s got talented players, but he needs a true captain that can help settle things down on the floor when things get hectic. We’ll see if he can find that next season.

It just was not a very good run by the women this year…but like you said losing our top two players did not help anything. And once again, hopefully we get some tall, talented girls into camp…otherwise we will continue to lose to the better programs…
