WR Grad transfer- Ellis Jefferson

Thanks. Didn’t realize he was a graduate transfer.

I’m anxious to see the difference in our WR corp with Wyatt gone. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything positive about him as a coach. We have too much talent at WR for that to be a mediocre-at-best group.

We assume under-utilized, because what we see on film gives up hope. Jefferson isn’t quick, he’s a long strider, but at 6-4, 200 pounds he uses his body well to create space. He could be a real asset underneath and give corners something to think near the line of scrimmage for the occasional deep route.

Jefferson does a very good job making himself available, under control, to catch the ball. He catches the ball away from his frame, and while he’s not a threat to break things after the catch, he showed the ability to catch the ball in traffic. We love the way he catches the ball with his hands and doesn’t allow it to get to his body.

So, basically he’s Chance Allen. A big-bodied possession receiver. I’ll take that.

That first drag route catch was impressive. We should put up some points with these WRs this year.

Wonder if he’ll play on the outside and they’ll keep Bonner at the slot.
